Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Move toward what matters, even when difficult feelings come along.

A closer look

ACT explores how to relate more flexibly to thoughts and emotions while taking action guided by your values. Instead of waiting until worry or self-doubt disappears, we look for choices you can make while those feelings are present. Acceptance means acknowledging an internal experience; it does not mean approving of harm or giving up on change.

Let your values help shape the next step.

In our work, we might notice a familiar story such as “I am falling behind” and explore what happens when it directs your day. A brief awareness exercise can create space to choose a response instead of automatically following the story.

Values can be complex when your own wishes and family expectations overlap. I make room for both connection and individuality, helping you explore what a meaningful life looks like in your cultural and relational context.

ACT can be integrated into individual therapy for anxiety, low mood, and life transitions. We choose exercises collaboratively and reflect on what is useful between sessions.
