Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)
Help a young child feel safer through the relationship they depend on.
A closer look
CPP is a relationship-based treatment for children from birth through age five and their parents or caregivers. It supports families after stressful or traumatic experiences, with the caregiver-child relationship at the center of the work. Young children often communicate through play, behavior, and emotion before they can explain what they feel.
The caregiver is part of the healing process.
I have training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy through UCSF and experience providing attachment-focused support to children and parents. We begin by learning about your family, your concerns, and what helps your child feel connected.
The work can include caregiver conversations and sessions with the child and caregiver together. Play and everyday interactions help us understand feelings and respond in developmentally appropriate ways.
We discuss your child’s needs and the session format that fits your family. Bilingual work can make space for the words and traditions you use at home, as well as the challenges of parenting across cultures.
